Philippines Fiesta 2008 in Leverton, Melbourne

'Mabuhay'
{The only Philippines word I know...., :-) }

I was invited by my Philippine's friend to go to Philippines Fiesta. This was definitely new to me.

I was excited to go and see how they organise such a huge 'carnival' for their community but open to public.

Impressive, just realised so many Philippines in Melbourne. They even have their own community center.

It was massive. They have been organising this kind of activity yearly and introduce Philippines to a non-Philippines public in Melbourne.

With good support from Philippines population in Melbourne, the event I thought was a huge success. Introduce Philippine's product such food, interesting tourist places and etc.......

Even they invited few Philippine celebrities to come and entertaining all Philippines in Melbourne.

My Philippine's friend asked me to try this, HALO HALO. It is a cold/icy drink which is a shredded ice mixing with beans, sweet potato etc... ( seperti Es teler kalo di Indonesia atau Ais Kacang / ABC kalau kat Malaysia). It was really nice especially during warm weather like last Saturday.

I ride my bicycle

I think I have been using my bicycle more frequent now than before. Each time when I want to do my groceries 'shopping' at Saigon Market in Footscray or Aldi Hypermarket at Gordon Street, I will cycle to those places. Each way will take me between 15 - 20 minutes. Make myself physically active most of the time other than walking and jogging.

Geelong: the journey

Went to Geelong with Zul. Took 10.00 am train from Southern Cross.

It took us 55 minutes to reach Geelong.

Sunday morning, still not many people around.

Walking our way to the waterfront. It was cloudy initially. Had our lunch first before start exploring Geelong.

I have been to Geelong more than twice before this but only for a short time.

Think every where you find Jetty anywhere in Australia you may find common interest which is fishing.

Weather was really nice after lunch time.

Malmsbury, Victoria

Malmsbury. A small town area.

Quiet and Peaceful.

If you are on your way to Bendigo, you might come a cross this place. But I was told that not any more, there is a freeway direct to Bendigo.
Malmsbury Botanical Garden.

There was a wedding ceremony that day.

Nice to have picnic here at Malmsbury Botanical Garden.

The famous Viaduct. It was built on 25 October 1860.
