Gnocchi with Calamari and bread

Had lunch invitation at Sam's house (One of my patients) on Saturday. As planned there was a demonstration on how to make gnocchi. Had fresh gnocchi with homemade tomato sauce and lot and lot of Parmesan cheese. :-)

Then his wife brought out freshly cooked, prawn garlic and calamari with vegetable. I was so so full after that. But the event of the day was making gnocchi. Now I can make my own gnocchi too. I will do it soon. Thanks Sam.......

Rombongan Dandenong

Ceriteranya ingin menikmati keindahan suasana kota metro sambil berbelanjalah katakan..

Ada yang beli kamera gituh, beli bag, jam dan macam macam sempena ingin menyambut Ramadhan yang menjelang tiba.. :-)

Lepas berbelanja bersama rombongan menyerbu ke Kopitiam Mamak di Kota Melbourne.

Apa lagi orderlah makanan Malaysia di situ.

Nikmat sekali dan semua puas hati sebelum keberangkatan rombongan pulang ke Dandenong.

Tropical fruits in Melbourne

Called which ever you like. I found fresh tapioca recently. So excited. I cut it into thin slices and fried it, made a chips (kerepek ubi) out of it.

See You Somewhere Out There

It been quite an emotional week for me. Most of my patients had completed my research study and today again one of them had completed. 'Sigh'....... Been trying to hide my emotion and I can look at his face, seems so sad for not coming again seeing me or me seeing him in the research gym after this.

Gosh, I have been with them months and months for the last 2 years. Most of them same age as my mom and dad and I have treated them and look after them as if they are my mom and my dad.

Been empathy, and listening to their story or problems etc. Been so so closed and i knew everything about them and their personal life. And imagine 40 of them, I knew everyone in detail, their personal life, medical conditions their like and dislike. Every time when they come for the session will observed each one and will definitely identified if one of them having problems or not feeling well etc.

Will missed them though, seen all kind of characters from posh untill an ordinary people. Whom ever they are I managed to get closer with them. Even some of them says, 'I wish you are my doctor'. I was so touched and honoured. Didn't comment anything about it.

Well next month the last one third of my patients will complete and it will be another emotional time for me and for them. At the end of the day, I feel happy for them of what they have gain from participating my research study; much fitter and healthier.

Dinner, with Sri lankan's family

Since most of my patients had complete participated my research study, now is the time I received an invitation to come over to their houses. Last Saturday night I have been invited to my patient house for dinner. She is a Sri Lankan. She and her husband fetch me at a train station.

She knows I am a Muslim and eat halal meat so she had prepared the famous Sri Lankan vegetarian dishes and few fish and seafood curry. She knows I like hot stuff so she had prepared chili paste especially for me :-). Anyhow I did eat a lot that night. I was so so full. Told her it her fault, :-)

Well, you know what this is just a beginning I am going to have more invitation after this. Next Italian food from an Italian patient. I am going to learn how to make homemade Italian pasta from the expert. :-)

I have this rare opportunity last Saturday an Officer from Ministry of Sports and Youth came to Melbourne, thanks to Zainah who asked me to accompany her to meet the officer.
We met at Crown Tower Hotel , Melbourne and went up to the room. I was amazed with the view from the room. What a nice view of Melbourne.
By the way,Malaysian Minister of Sports and Youth came last Monday, the officer came earlier to organized and arranged all sorts of thing prior to the minister arrival.

My Cookies

Regularly, I will make my own homemade biscuits supply for a week or two during weekend. Stop buying and make my homemade cookies. My favorite is always chocolate chips cookies and my new addition favorite is oats and raisin cookies. I have found all the recipes online but as usual I modified most of it especially in regards with sugar. Looking at most of the recipes, they used so much sugar. yuck.... I have cut down a lot and used only 1/3 of the recommended amount. Still, it still sweet. I will definitely cut some more next time. Don't like cookies too sweet. Change the butter to low calorie and low fat butter. Try to make it as healthier as possible. Yummy...

Another Day Another Cake

Greg (the chef), used to be my research study participant, came in and brought me a birthday cake which he made himself. Called me earlier just to make sure I am around. Nice Chocolate Mud Cake. Yummy . Well one more cake in my refrigerator. God knows how long it will take me to finish all the cakes. Now I have two cakes.....

I took it just out side my apartment from the corridor.
Well it was beautiful. Wish I was in the city or beaches...

Birthday Lunch

It my birthday today, thank you for all the wishes I received from friends and my family.

I had a birthday lunch today in the department. I have planned it a week earlier, what I want to bring for the lunch gathering. I told everybody I will bring the main course.

I have made, 'Nasi Lemak (Coconut rice)' with 'sambal tumis ikan bilis', 'Roti Canai', 'Udang masak lemak' and Beef Rendang'. Love to watch everybody enjoying the food. I have made everything less hot, not much chilli in it. Glad everything finished. :-)

Just for information. I modified slightly the Nasi Lemak, which I didn't used thick coconut milk, instead I used light coconut milk and skim milk. :-), try to make so call healthy version of Nasi Lemak. Turn out to be not so bad at all.

The department brought me a birthday cake. :-)

Well this is it. The cake. So rich with chocolate. Mmmmmm yummy yummy.....

The other half of the cake is in my refrigerator, not sure when I am going to finish it. Months maybe...............................

My Birthday Present

A wonderful card from department of Cardiology Research; the head of the department and all the staffs. I was touched by all the words they wrote in the card. Was a little bit emotional. Thanks guy.

Appreciation from patients

Nice coffee (macam kopi 434, best) smells nice. Tried first time few weeks back when Graeme, one of the patients brought us this coffee when he saw the coffee we had in the gym. He said, 'what a crap you have' (referring to Nescafe). Then next week he brought us this coffee. Douglas personally bought one medium box just for me as an appreciation for looking after him and came early morning to the gym. :-)

John brought me Mandarin Orange which he grew it from his own garden. Nice Mandarin orange.
