Chocolate Day

There are lot and lot of chocolates today in the Department. Gift from a lot of people because, Xmas is just around the corner. Already had small piece of  cake and a chocolate biscuit in the clinic so I only took  3  of the small one. :-) No more. To much high in calories and fat. :-) But I can take some more tomorrow though. Always another day to enjoy chocolate. It is a temptation but always have it in moderation.

Out of my expectation, I went to the Office at Austin yesterday morning (Saturday) and found a present on my work station. Gloomy Red striking color from my Supervisor the senior cardiologist. He knows my color and my taste well. :-). 

Never had this before from the head of Cardiology Research Department before. He knows I am having trouble and a difficult time this last few months , struggling with my thesis (I told him earlier few days ago) and he want to cheer me up. Nothing much though looking at the present but the thought that count and made my day. At least I feel bit better even though not completely.

The Confirmed News

When I had received the news few weeks back regarding the promotion, I was not sure even though my name was in the list. The reason why, I haven't done a course which is required for the promotion. But it beyond my will though because I am here in Melbourne. Furthermore, I was and still struggling here . I was upset two weeks ago, when I had been told that I was not eligible for the promotion because of that matter. I was really down and unhappy until today. I thought that it my seniority  had gone, just like that. Was really really upset.

Suddenly today, I received an email from the secretary of the Dean Office, "Congratulation, you have been promoted to ..........".  It was a surprised and really happy today considering the matter mentioned earlier. Alhamdulillah. They gave a special exceptional for me and few others since they going to abolish the course and will do another type of assessment next year. My promotion has been backdated   since march 2010. Initially I felt hopeless but now I am back with motivation. Shukran. 

Amanda In Action

On my way back home, I stop by at Adel's house to pay a visit. Her mom is still in Melbourne until Thursday. At the same time I took a chance taking picture of Amanda using my EPL-1 with Minolta 50mm f/1.4 lens. Challenging but interesting. 

Amanda is always one of my favourite 'model'. Photogenic and she will do all the posses without so much instructions. Cool.

A period of cloudy day on my way back made a nice mirror image on the river.

I bought Minolta 50mm f 1.4 camera lens few months back for my EPL1. But, I never use it since then awaiting for the adapter. It was a bargain at that time. An old manual lens, good for portrait picture too. Everybody said it is a good lens.  Zul gave me few tips . I  will start using and practice with this lens from now on.

Look whos coming to town

It a huge news in Australia when the talk queen show  in the world arrived. Yes it Ophra, she's in Australia. Yesterday she was in Melbourne. The Prime Minister and The Victoria new premier had welcome her in Melbourne at Federation square. Totally packed with thousands of people packing the place just want to have a glimps of Ophra Winfrey. Well I didn't go though knowing the crowd will be so so huge. Anyhow, she had a wonderful time in Melbourne.

I get caught in the rain and was soaking wet despite wearing  my rain coat. Initially it was drizzling but in the middle of my way back, the rain started pouring. Ran and try to find a place to stop. By the time I reached under the bridge, I was all over wet.

I felt so exhausted. It was humid last night can't sleep well and did feel fresh this morning when I woke up. But, I still need to do what I have to do. May be looking at this pink rose will make me feel better.
