Sovereign Hill - The Journey

Saturday night Yus called me and confirmed that we (except her) will go to Ballarat on Sunday. Pam and Norman will fetch us at Yus' place.
I reached Yus' hotel at 9.30 am then later at 10.00 Norman arrived. Me, Rosli, Kak Esah and Azimah going to Ballarat with Norman's car while Yus and Pam arranged for some other activity.
We arrived at our destination the Sovereign Hill, Ballarat 20 minutes to Mid day. It took us about an hour drive (approximately 110 km from Melbourne CBD). I have heard about this place but never had the chance to come and visit.
First we had our lunch. We never thought of preparing any lunch but Norman had prepared egg sandwiches and honey dews for us. Thank you very much, he really a very nice person and take good care of us.
Well this is it. We are so fortunate Norman had 2 free tickets, I have my student card and Norman has his elderly concession card so instead of paying AUD 175 we just paid AUD 89. Norman had been so kind to us spending time and took us to this place free of charge. Me and the rest of the gang had decided to pay the ticket for Norman. At least this is the only way to appreciate and saying thank you for his kindness. I definitely will feel guilty if he is paying for his ticket.
Norman is a very knowledgeable person. He actually became our personal tour guide at Sovereign Hill. He explain everything what had happened during the golden period of Ballarat.
Sovereign Hill is actually a living museum representing Ballarat first golden decade following the discovery of gold in 1851. It is set outdoors on 25 hectares of an early gold mining site.
We finished discovering the whole area of Sovereign Hill for 4 hours and 30 minutes. Wow such a long time. No wonder everybody look so exhausted. Especially Kak Esah and Rosli. LOL. But really we had a wonderful time.
